Easter Wedding

When I was a new student in Manresa, Rosali was my first friend. That was back in Grade Six, when all we did was read Sweet Valley Twins and go to ATC for fun. To my recollection, I don't think we've been classmates in high school. But she was my barkada. And, although we've all had our separate ways since 1998, the bond among the girls of our round (after a while, long) table never really did get broken. I can't believe she's turned into a beautiful woman and is now married.

Suffice it to say that I just had to go to her wedding and see this guy she's marrying. Never mind that I have to fly (not literally, though it felt like it) from Laguna to Intramuros just to scrape it in time for the reception. (For this I would like to thank my beloved mother for devising a way to make this happen, and my dear assistants who were indispensable in this time of need. Bless you, Karen, Thegie, and Jeany!). There were just three of us from the barkada: me, Rochelle and Liezl. I've seen Roche last December, but I haven't seen Liezl in a long, long time. She's gained weight, which is a good thing, because she used to be so thin, like me, actually. She looks great. As I was looking at her, I still can't believe that this was the girl who was my best friend at one point.

So there. We had some good food, great wine, saw a celebrity, and celebrated my friend get married. I'm glad she's happy and having a baby.
