Three Cakes Are Better Than One

This year, I feel blessed to have three different cakes (yes, the cassava cake counts as one!). The first one, Black Velvet, was bought from Mary Grace, and was intended for my beloved family. The second one, the Mocha Cake from Red Ribbon, was a surprise gift from my QA family. The third is in coordination with our fiesta-theme joint occasions party.

I'm grateful for the appreciation on my day. It was a simple yet meaningful day: Mommy, Nico and I went to mass then breakfast; I renewed my license, and went to Spanish class; and the day ended with a family dinner.

It was a reminder of what's important: to be surrounded by the people you love and who love you in return.

To more cakes to come!

It's Okay to Quit

While pondering what I could add to the Secrets of Adulthood for my own Happiness Project, I came across Oxygen's The Glee Project. Being a Gleek myself, I could understand how each contestant wanted the prize: an appearance in future Glee episodes.

This week's episode struck me because one of the top six contenders, Cameron Mitchell, chose to walk away. His reasons were respectable and I applaud him for being able to determine when enough is enough for him.

Evidently, we don't always have to finish what we've started. When things are no lon
ger worth it, we really don't have to stay. There is always an exit door.

The key is to be able to determine the importance of things.

So there. Apparently, you can learn something from watching television.
